Why Future Skills?

The world of work and society are changing more rapidly than ever before. We want you to be as well prepared as possible for the complex challenges that await us all in the coming years. That’s why we have Future Skills courses for you in addition to theory and practice in the Dual Master’s Program in Computer Science. You won’t find that anywhere else in Germany!

Future skills: skills that have already gained in importance and will become even more important in the future

You can expect experts from business and science as speakers in the courses. Of course, you will receive a certificate for successfully completing a course, which will significantly enhance your application documents.

Technological expertise

Being able to use new technologies efficiently is essential in all sectors of the economy. These include software development, artificial intelligence (AI), UX design, data analysis and robotics.

Digital skills

Digital skills remain key skills, especially media skills. This includes traditional media (newspapers, TV) as well as digital and social media (Linkedin, YouTube or chat forums). The influence of such media on politics and society has been increasing for years. This makes it all the more important to be able to classify this information correctly.

Classic competencies

This refers to non-digital skills such as problem-solving skills or perseverance. They form the foundation, today and in the future. More important, however, are transformative skills such as the ability to engage in dialog, resolve conflicts and make sound judgments. Such skills are neither new nor limited to the 21st century. What is new, however, is that these future skills will be more closely interlinked in future.

You will develop and expand these skills in our Future Skill courses. In your later professional life, you will be able to successfully solve complex tasks and problems in a self-organized manner. These are skills that are highly valued by employers and also give you the opportunity to become a manager.

Hard Skills

Hard skills are technical skills that can be learned and verified.

Soft skills

Soft skills are interdisciplinary, personal skills that help you to overcome different challenges in your job.
